EPDM over new decking

New flat roof decking

This roof was prepared by the builder for us to come along and cover it for him.

They stripped all of the old roof insulated to the new Part L building regulations, then over-boarded using sterling board.

NB: There is a board upright on the parapet wall. This was used because the wall was in such a bad condition.

Applying glue to the new decking

Here you can clearly see that the rubber is in a roll. It has already been partially unrolled and positioned so that after the glue is applied, all we have to do is roll it over the glued area and it is in the correct position.

Moor Glue gos down

Now more glue is applied to the decking.

The biger pitcher

This shows that we have already set out the other side ready for gluing down.

Trimming the sides ready for flashing

Now the excess rubber is cut down ready for the new metal flashings to be fixed into place.

Dressing round a scylight

The advantages of using this material are clear to see. The detailed tailoring around the skylight is far from finished, however it's already looking good.

Finished off round the skylight

This close up shows the finish around the skylight.

Drip into gutter

Here you can see a very smooth roof and a lovely drip profile. In the background you can also see all the metal trims to the parapets.
